How to Create an Offset Using the Foil Quill in Brother Scan and Cut Canvas Workspace

*CM900 model used.
1- Open canvas workspace. Click on the text icon.

2- With the text selected click on the edit panel.

3- Click on the offset icon.  new window will pop up. This will enable you to place an internal or external offset in your text. You can adjust the spacing of the offset to 1 mm. once you are happy click OK.

4- You now have a offset on your text.

5- Right click and group the offset and text.

6- With both selected go to the properties panel and in the drop down box select the draw function.

7- We need to transfer to the scan n cut machine. Click on file then select transfer FCM file via the internet. (if you have a non wireless mode you can save to a USB or use a cable.)

8- A new pop up will appear when the file has transferred to the machine.

9-Click the pattern icon.

10- Next click the transfer icon.

11- Your image will appear on your workspace. Click the scan function to scan in your media so you know where to line up your design over the foil. Click OK.

12- Click on the draw icon. For cardstock I use a speed of 3 and pressure of 0.

13- Your offset is now completed. You can also use this function to create some interesting fill patterns for your designs.
